Album released in UK in the wake of a public outcry against The Sex Pistols, whose album had consisted of four singles, four 'B'sides and two duff new tracks. Therefore all ten titles were tracks previously unreleased in the UK and none of the earlier 7" releases were included. Ironically this ended up making the UK version of the album far worse value for money ("2-4-6-8 Motorway" was included in all other territories.) Up until the remastered 2004 reissue, the best version of "Power In The Darkness" by far was the North American release, as follows:

Contained the album version of 'Bully For You' (co-written by Tom with Peter Gabriel) b/w a theme song commissioned for a TV documentary on the state of UK race relations called "Our People" and considered the worst song Tom has ever written by many, including TR himself.

TOM ROBINSON featuring THE VOICE SQUAD "Never Gonna Fall in Love Again" SINGLE
1979 EMI2967 EMI
TR(bs), Danny Kustow(gtr), Ian Parker(kyb), Charlie Morgan (drs) plus on 'A' Side only: Frank Collins, Dyan Birch, Paddy McHugh(vocs)
The 'A' side "Never Gonna Fall in Love (again)" was co-written by Tom with Elton John and the record released as a promo/benefit single for Pride 79 in London. Although TRB were playing on the record, its hamfisted disco stylewas so alien to what the band was about that at the other members' request it was released as a Tom Robinson solo single and the group split shortly afterwards.

A. Never Gonna Fall in Love (again)
B. Getting Tighter

A pirate version of 'The Winter of 89' above thanks to an unscrupulous record company called Merlin exploiting a loophole in EU law. Having licensed the album for £3000 they sold it on to other dodgy record companies around the world. The album has now been pirated variously under the titles 'Motorway', '2-4-6-8 Motorway' and even (incredibly) 'Power In The Darkness' using different covers, crap photographs and duff or nonexistent liner notes. In some cases even the song titles have been altered. The band receive no royalties from sales of these albums. Please don't buy them, it only encourages the bastards.
